Pepper

Turkey is the third in the world in pepper production. Pepper is grown both in the open and in the greenhouse in our country. Turkey’s; Pepper, which is the fourth in the world in export, is mainly grown in the Mediterranean Region in our country. The provinces where the product is made intensively are Antalya, Bursa, Icel, Hatay, and Samsun, respectively. The pepper varieties grown and exported in our country are generally F1 pepper seeds that have been improved, and production is made from the varieties of many domestic and foreign companies. These varieties are; green pepper, red pepper, large red pepper, bell pepper, and conical pepper.

Charleston Pepper

Charleston pepper is grown in various regions of Turkey. It is produced especially in regions such as Hatay, Adana, Antalya, Mersin, İzmir and Muğla. It is usually grown in greenhouses and is productive from August to October. It tastes sweet and is available in green, yellow or red.

Green Pepper

Pointed pepper is a type of pepper belonging to the Capsicum annuum species. It is a vegetable widely grown in Turkey. A member of the pepper family, the pointed pepper has two different varieties, hot and sweet. It can be consumed both fresh and dried.

Hot climates are required for the cultivation of the pointed pepper. It is grown in regions such as Mersin, Antalya, Adana, Hatay, İzmir, and Muğla in Turkey. It is sown in March and harvested approximately 120-150 days later. Fertile months are usually from June to September.

Long Green Pepper

Kıl pepper is also widely grown in Turkey. It is especially common in regions such as Antalya, Hatay, Adana, and Mersin. Kıl Pepper gives high yields in summer and likes hot climates.

Capia

Capia pepper is a sweet and red pepper variety. It is generally grown in Southeastern Anatolia, the Mediterranean, and the Aegean regions in Turkey. Fertile months are usually July and August. In addition to being used as a flavoring in meals, capia pepper is also consumed as breakfast. It can also be used as chili powder when dried.

California Pepper

California pepper is grown in Turkey, especially in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The most productive months are May, June and July. California pepper is a type of pepper that stands out with its long and meaty structure. It has a bitter and slightly sweet taste. It is also a healthy option with its high vitamin C content.

Chile Pepper

Chile pepper is grown in Turkey, especially in regions with hot climates such as Antalya, İzmir, Adana, Mersin, and Hatay. Chili peppers can be harvested efficiently from June to October.

Chili peppers are a popular type of pepper used in spicy dishes and in many dishes such as sauces and marinades. It is also a rich source of vitamin C and beta-carotene. Chili pepper varieties include jalapeno, serrano, habanero, and cayenne peppers.

Bell Pepper

Bell pepper is a pepper variety grown especially in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. It usually starts to be harvested in July and production usually continues until September. Bell peppers are usually green in color and turn red as they mature and are used in stuffing. It is slightly bitter and aromatic in taste. Stuffed pepper production is concentrated in provinces such as Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakır in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey.
