Watermelon is a product of great economic importance in Turkish agriculture. Approximately 10% of the world production, which is 39.7 million tons, is 39.9 million tons. Aegean, Mediterranean, Southeastern Anatolia and Marmara regions, on a provincial basis, the highest production is made in our province. Adana province alone provides 20% of Turkey’s watermelon production. The way of growing watermelon in our region is generally for earliness. F1 hybrid seeds are used in all areas under cover.
